I'm M2 and I create things!

I'm on a mission to create a web for everyone by:
  • blending accessibility, inclusivity, and usability
  • into web experiences, digital media, and automated systems

"You are the only person with your exact blend of talent and skills."

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Anthropology – concentrated in Archaeology with a minor in Earth and Planetary Science – aka I have a piece of paper to dig up dead peoples' trash πŸ˜‰. Anthropology is probably the most useful degree to learn about how people not only think, but how they interact with the world around them.

I'm self-taught in digital media, design strategy, development, and accessibility. I love open source, open science, and open knowledge.

Joined Polywork as an early adopter and am now obsessively digging through my past to find cool things I want to highlight.

If I clutter your feed for the next week with stuff from half a decade ago, I apologize in advance. πŸ™

Fun fact: I'd been brainstorming the idea of formatting my website homepage as a changelog for the past month, but now I can just subdomain this profile or something!

The Summit on Race in America β€’ lbjsummitonrace.org β€’ LBJ Foundation β€’ Jul 2019 - Aug 2019

The LBJ Foundation hosted a Summit on Race in America and needed a website update to include the panel recaps and prominently feature the video replays. The Summit on Race in America occurred April 8-10, 2019 at the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas with:
  • 46 participants
  • 18 panel recordings
  • 21 sponsors

New Focus: We extended the existing design to shift the focal point to the new videos rather than the speaker lineup. The home page also features a final statement from the foundation’s president.

Video Panels: Each panel page features a YouTube video, a brief description of what was discussed, the speakers cross-linked to their respective about pages, and a photo gallery preview.

Content Edits: Additional modifications were made to the schedule to link to the panel recaps as well as some tidying up to remove no longer useful information such as parking and pre-ordering books.

LBJ Liberty & Justice For All Award β€’ lbjaward.org β€’ LBJ Foundation β€’ Jun 2019 - Jul 2019

Designed a microsite for the LBJ Award to house all the award recipients with event photos, videos, press releases, and sponsors. Additionally, the site features the upcoming award, sponsorship information, and live stream (when applicable) of the event.

The LBJ Foundation presents the Liberty and Justice For All Award to those who carry on President Lyndon Baines Johnson’s legacy and commitment to provide opportunity for all. Previously each press release, event details, and final recap was split into multiple blog posts on the LBJ Library website. In 2019 for the 8th award ceremony, we consolidated all 7 prior awards into a new standalone website for historic preservation.

The Pieces:
  • A design matching the print invitations
  • A homepage focused on the upcoming award ceremony and its recipient
  • A page for sponsorship and ticket information
  • A page for each award ceremony featuring the recipients, event press release, videos, and photographs, along with the committees and sponsors
